Despite dramatic headlines of doom and gloom, Marin’s home prices are much stronger than you might think, still up significantly from 2020, and a sizable, but declining proportion of homes still sell at or above list price.
The economy and housing market remains in a period of adjustment, causing many to be more cautious as they wait to see how things will settle out. We’re in the midst of the typically slow holiday season, with barely any new inventory and many sellers pulling their properties off the market until the new year.
This can be an excellent time for buyers to negotiate aggressively, or simply have less competition in Marin’s notoriously competitive market.
